The University Relations Committee (URC) assists the president of UCAR in maintaining and improving communications between the corporation and its 63 member institutions. New committee members are elected at the Annual UCAR Members' Meeting in October. Each serves a three-year term; the final year of each members term is indicated in parentheses.  For more information on the URC, please contact the commitee chair (moody@virginia.edu) or Susan Warner, in the UCAR Corporate Affairs Office, swarner@ucar.edu.

1997 Fall Meeting- Summary

As a committee and as representatives of this academic community the URC continues to look for ways to broaden the degree of collaboration and interaction between UCAR/NCAR and  academic institutions.  For these reasons I decided  to make this effort to communicate  with the community more directly and to make you aware of what this committee does, and offer you the opportunity to help define what it could do in the future.  The URC would like to remind you (our University colleagues) of  upcoming research opportunities, of existing programs within NCAR for visiting Students and visiting Scientists, and we would encourage Universities to consider making UCAR/NCAR colleagues aware of opportunities for academic sabbaticals or shorter-term visits at your home institutions.   Finally, we encourage  you , individual University Members and Academic Affiliates,  to make yourself and your students aware of the ongoing activities at UCAR through the Quarterly Newsletter, and through periodically looking at whats is available on the UCAR web. We welcome input and feedback to our efforts on your behalf.  Here's to a happy and productive New Year.
